I've been having a somewhat ongoing conversation the last few days with a couple of friends at work....

Right now I'm knee deep in Genesis development. The idea has always been to try and do more than "simply make a film". At my end of the budgetary scale, there's an awful lot films that seem to be made just because, well, the guys and gals involved want to make a film. I can respect that. I want to make a film. That's one of the driving forces.

Update time. More of an effort make I must.

Seriously though, how did this happen? 4 months. Nearer 5. I'm going to make more of an effort. Honest. Not like I could make less of one.

So what have I been up to?

I may not of updated for a month, but that does not mean I have not been busy. Quite the opposite in fact.

Right now, I'm working on a few things and trying to decide what to do next.

The end goal is, of course, Genesis. Having struggled with the script for over a year, I've finally passed it over to a proper writer :) I'll discuss more when we have the first draft.

After a load of work, Deathilating Machine is finished and it's right here!

Remember my last blog? All sounded like it was going so well.

That was until I realised the old NLE had decided to put a black frame around my uncompressed render. Why? After lots of messing around, it appears to have been a bug. It kept messing up pixel size, and even though I'd manually set it as 1.0, it still wouldn't work until (as I eventually fluked upon) you completely change export types, then change back. It then defaults to 1.0 and, you know, actually works.

As Phil has said, we shot Deathilating Machine (aka In The Flesh) a long time ago, yet for one reason or another it's never been completed. We got close last year, but Phil wanted to work on the visual effects some more, and I was never really happy with the edit. Then we completed ZombieZ, then came the Mirrors music video, and then came a much needed rest.

And now we're here.

So I'm laying in bed contemplating the last few days.

Events kicked of quietly, a quick email to a few regular crew members asking their permission to include a bio on the Crew page - they would be involved in Genesis after all. Quickly found myself on Facebook having a chat with Piotr, my regular sound engineer.
